Butterscotch Sauce I:
Mix all ingredients except the cream, and bring to a boil in a heavy saucepan. Boil 1 minute. Cool and stir in the cream until smooth and satiny.
Butterscotch Sauce II:
Substitute dark brown sugar for the white.
