The Negroni is said to be named after Count Emilio Negroni, who concocted the cocktail back in 1935 at the Hotel Casoni in Florence. It’s an excellent summer drink.
In cocktail shaker, combine the liquid ingredients with crushed ice and shake until very cold, Strain into a chilled glass, twish the strip of orange zest over the drink, and add it as a garnish.
If served on the rocks, use a tall cylindrical glass.
